What to expect
Your journey begins with a comfortable 45-minute coach ride from Reykjavík. The drive is part of the experience, as you pass through both new and ancient lava fields, arriving at Blue Lagoon in the heart of a UNESCO Global Geopark. This otherworldly setting makes the location truly unique—unlike any other bathing place in Iceland, or the world.
Upon arrival, a short walk from the parking area leads you through dramatic volcanic landscapes, with views of the lagoon’s steaming blue waters. Soon, you step into the iconic warmth. With 10,000 square metres to explore—the largest geothermal lagoon in Iceland—the Blue Lagoon invites you to move at your own pace. A designated quiet zone offers a peaceful setting, allowing for even more space to unwind.
Unlimited access to lagoon spaces, including the sauna, steam cave, and colder lagoon, lets you fully relax and enjoy every moment. Essentials, including a soft towel, one soft drink, and the signature Silica Mud Mask at the in-water mask bar, are included in your visit.
Before heading back, enjoy a light bite at Blue Café or explore the magical surroundings. Your return coach brings you back to Reykjavík, with a Smartbus connection straight to your accommodation.
Terms & conditions
The Blue Lagoon has a minimum age limit of 2 years old
It is mandatory for children aged 2 to 8 to wear inflatable armbands (also known as ‘floaties’, or ‘water wings’) in the lagoon. These are provided free of charge
Please also be aware that each guardian is only allowed to supervise two children under the age of 10. For safety, and out of respect for other guests, please keep an eye on your children at all times
Your pickup will be 1.5 hours prior to your booked entrance time to the Blue Lagoon
