Golden Circle + Laugaras Lagoon Experience
First up is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Iceland’s most remarkable geological wonders. Second, imagine yourself walking between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates… Literally witnessing firsthand the place earth is slowly pulling apart. Wild, right? It’s a powerful and unforgettable start to your Iceland Golden Circle + Laugarás Lagoon adventure!
Third, we head to Geysir Geothermal Area, home to bubbling hot springs and the world-famous Strokkur geyser. Watch as Strokkur erupts sky-high every ~6–15 minutes, sending steaming water up to 30 meters into the air. This is Iceland’s geothermal energy at its most dramatic, what a crazy visual!
Next, we continue to Gullfoss Waterfall, often called the “Niagara Falls of Iceland.” This two-tiered waterfall is massive and more often than not, creates misty rainbows. You’ll have time to explore the viewing paths, and in good conditions, even hike closer for an unbeatable perspective. (Note: In winter, some paths may be closed for safety).
