What to expect
This fast-cruising boat departs from Reykjavík's Old Harbour and reaches Faxaflói Bay's prime whale-feeding grounds faster — which means the same amount of time watching whales, in a 2 to 2.5 hour tour. Three departures daily at 10am, 2pm, and 9pm give you the flexibility to fit a whale watch around the rest of your day without rearranging everything around it.
Out on the bay, the experience is the same one our guides have been delivering for decades. Minke whales, humpback whales, white-beaked dolphins, and harbour porpoises all feed in these waters. Your guide reads the surface continuously — calling out every sighting live and explaining behaviour that most visitors wouldn't know to look for on their own. Warm provided overalls go over your clothes before you board, and a heated indoor lounge sits ready if the sea breeze gets to you.

Please note that wildlife sightings can not be guaranteed. If you do not see any wildlife on your tour you will get a complimentary ticket to try again.
The tour will be dependent on correct weather conditions. Your captains will make their decision to sail based on many years of experience, always keeping in mind passenger safety and comfort. In case of cancellation due to weather you are eligible for a full refund.
