Choose to meet us at the glacier parking lot or opt for pickup from Reykjavík to reach this ever-changing glacial tongue, shaped by time and nature’s raw power.
Upon arrival, your certified glacier guide will provide a thorough safety briefing and fit you with all necessary professional gear: crampons, ice axes, helmets, and harnesses. Next, hike into this frozen wonderland, safely navigating the ever-changing terrain. Explore the remarkable terrain, where stunning ice formations and jagged ridges create an awe-inspiring landscape.
You will be taught how to use your ice axe and technique to ascend a natural ice wall. This is a safe, encouraging, and unique opportunity to try ice climbing

- From Reykjavík (Full Day Tour): Enjoy the ultimate hassle-free experience - no car needed. Includes round-trip transportation from Reykjavík, plus stunning sightseeing stops at the legendary Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls along the famous South Coast. Relax and enjoy the scenic drive.
- Meet On Location (Half Day Tour): Ideal for those self-driving the South Coast. Meet us directly at the Sólheimajökull parking lot for your classic glacier experience.
Terms & conditions
• Hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory for this adventure
• Minimum age is 14 years old and minimum shoe size is 35 EU
• Please bring a warm and waterproof jacket and pants, hiking boots, headwear and gloves (outerwear and hiking boots available to rent for a fee)
• Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.
