What to expect
Explore a natural ice labyrinth and enter a world of blue ice with expert guides. This is an unforgettable, beginner-friendly glacier adventure on an outlet of Vatnajökull, Europe's largest glacier.
This tour combines the magic of a blue ice cave with a comfortable glacier walk. Instead of visiting a single large chamber, you’ll follow our Crevasse Track through a natural labyrinth of towering blue ice walls, narrow passages and deep crevasses.
Capture dramatic blue ice photos without the crowds! Unlike standard glacier walks that stay on the surface, our Maze tour takes you through the dramatic vertical features of the glacier, giving you the 'ice cave' feel year-round.
Meet your guide and fellow explorers at the Arctic Adventures Skaftafell Booking Hut. From here, we drive you in a 4x4 bus about 20 minutes to the very edge of the Falljökull glacier tongue. Here, we gear up, make sure everyone is comfortable in their gear, and set off on a ~4 km adventure through the glacier labyrinth. No technical experience required.

Hiking boots with ankle support are mandatory for this adventure. We offer rental pairs for 1500 ISK if required.
Please note that our specialized glacier crampons are only available for shoe sizes 35-50 EU. Those with a shoe size beyond these are unfortunately unable to participate.
Please dress in layers and wear warm, waterproof clothing.
