Welcome to our Katla Ice Cave from Vik experience! Meet our Vik Iceland driver-guide on the backside of the IceWear Mall to begin your journey. Here, you’ll hop aboard a 4x4 Super Jeep, and head into the Icelandic Highlands. A place that has served as the backdrop of countless movies and television shows. Truly it will look and feel like you’re visiting another planet!
Learn about the mysterious Myrdalsjokull Glacier and specifically Katla Glacier outlet which has a subglacier volcano lurking underneath. Next, your guide will give you a safety brief and equip you with a helmet and crampons.
After a short 2-8 minute walk you will enter the ice cave to begin your experience inside the glacier. Our natural ice cave in Vik Iceland is exclusive to our Gravel Travel team and not shared with any other companies. Making this experience more intimate and memorable with Icelandic nature. Furthermore, you’ll be in a small group, not sharing the space with lots of people.
