Walking a bit further down, you will have the chance to explore Monastiraki Square and Plaka, quaint areas developed around the ancient Agora, where you can find all kinds of small shops. The heart of the city beats around the Constitution Square, in Greek Syntagma, the meeting point for both tourists and locals.
