Start your tour at Kerameikos Archaeological Site. Learn about the history of this important landmark and see where many prominent Athenians were buried for centuries. This is the place where Pericles, the most prominent Athenian leader, gave his famous speech.
Next, walk to Monastiraki Flea Market, home to antique stores where countless treasures from a bygone era can be found. Then, visit Hadrian's Library and, just a short distance away, the Roman Agora.
Next, stop at Tower of the Winds, an octagonal marble tower in the Roman Agora that served both as a wind indicator and also as a clock. Learn about the first meteorological station and how it was used to forecast weather.
Pass by Plaka, a historical neighborhood with small scenic houses and narrow streets. Then, we pass by the Ancient Agora of Athens, a large area with ancient ruins that was once the focus of political, commercial, administrative, and social activity.
Continue to Pnyx Hill, a historic location for democracy, and the ancient Greek mausoleum of Philopappos Monument. Admire the views from this hilltop location. Finally, pass by the Acropolis, an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above Athens.
