What to expect
Drive along the southern coast to the Athenian Riviera on a trip from Athens to Cape Sounio and the Temple of Poseidon. Enjoy the temple views and watch the amazing sea view Cape Sounion. Learn about the sights with an audio guide available in six languages.
Board an air-conditioned bus and head to Sounion, where you'll be captivated by the famous landscape surrounding the promontory. In ancient Greek times, this site was considered sacred ground dedicated to the gods Poseidon and Athena.
Next, marvel at the Temple of Poseidon, perched 70 meters above the sea on the cliff’s edge (entry tickets not included). Walk on the revered land of Sounion, mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey, and stand on the same cliff where it is said King Aegeus threw himself off.
On summer days bring your swimmsuit and explore the hidden beach behind the Temple.(not for passengers with impaired mobility)
Then we get back to Athens center to get dropped of at your preffered spot .
