Start your day at Lake Kournas, Crete’s only freshwater lake, surrounded by serene natural beauty. Continue to the village of Argyroupoli, where a short stroll reveals layers of Cretan history and finishes with a refreshing coffee or juice break.
As you continue south, just before reaching the Libyan Sea, pause at Kotsifou Gorge to visit a charming stone-built church set among striking cliffs. Make your longest stop at Plakias Bay, where you have free time to relax by the sea, taste local cuisine, or explore the village streets.
On your return journey, pass through the impressive Kourtaliotis Gorge, where you stop to admire and photograph the wild scenery.
