The Acropolis requires uphill walking and uneven steps, so wear comfortable shoes. During summer, the site can be very hot—early or late time slots are recommended. If you select the tour-only option, you must purchase your entrance tickets online in advance to avoid long queues and secure the correct entry time. Free-entrance dates for the Acropolis and Museum update automatically in the system and will appear when applicable. Large bags, luggage, tripods, and strollers are not allowed on the hill.
