Make a short rest stop outside the town of Levadia, we arrive at Delphi, the center of the Ancient World – the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth) – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World.
Stop first at the Delphi archeological site – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most important digs in Europe. Avoid the lines of the archaeological site and walk around the evocative ruins with your guide, and see famous monuments including the Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of Apollo.
Move on to the Delphi Archeological Museum, which contains such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias.
Return to Athens passing by the picturesque village of Arachova, built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs, and quilts, as well as for its wine and cheese, and make a short photo stop.
