- Your day to Meteora, step by step -
Your journey begins at 08:00 AM from Larissa Station in Athens, where you will board a comfortable air-conditioned bus for the drive to Meteora, which takes about 4 hours.
Midway through the journey, we make a refreshing stop at a roadside restaurant in Kamena Vourla. Stretch your legs, pick up water, coffee, or snacks, and enjoy views of the island of Evia before continuing toward the mountains.
You will arrive in Kalabaka at approximately 12:30, where your local guide will welcome you and begin the Meteora tour, which lasts more than 4 hours. Before the tour you will have a break to a local Greek restaurant.
If you book the option with Greek lunch included, you can choose one main dish from 10 options, along with a Greek salad. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. The meal is served in a fully air-conditioned restaurant.
During the tour, you will see all the monasteries of Meteora and visit 3 of them inside. Your guide will explain the geological formation of Meteora, the history of the monasteries, and the traditions of monastic life in the area.
Several stops at breathtaking and panoramic viewpoints to take memorable photos. You will also see the Hermit Caves and learn histories that only locals know, about the majestic rocks of Meteora.
At approximately 18:00, board the coach for the return journey to Athens. Midway through the drive, enjoy one more refreshment stop at a roadside restaurant in Kamena Vourla, where you can relax and choose to have dinner before continuing back to the city.
Arrival in Athens is expected around 22:30, with drop-off at Larissa Station, the same place where your day began.

• Please bring earpads & a smartphone to use the audio guide.
• Appropriate clothing for everyone is required to enter the monasteries. For ladies skirts by the knee or longer are required. No pants for ladies, no shorts, no sleeveless shirt. For men sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee are prohibited.
• To reach the entrance of the monasteries, you’ll need to make a short climb up the stairs. The number of steps varies in each monastery, but at a slow & comfortable pace with short brakes, the walk from the parking area typically takes 10–15 minutes.
• There will be stops during the trip from/to Athens to buy breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• People who join the tour from November to February 15 will experience also the breathtaking Meteora sunset.
