What to expect
In the heart of the Châtillonnais, the Château de Tavannes opens its doors for a unique guided tour led by its owner. Built between 1735 and 1744 for Charles de Saulx, Viscount of Tavannes, the castle still has some older features, including a staircase turret from the 15th or 16th century. Listed as a historic monument since 1988, it bears witness to a rich architectural and family history. During the tour, you'll wander through the estate's grounds, the octroi pavilions, the vineyard overlooking the site, and the Burgundy stone basement, typical of the region. Each spot tells a story about the castle, how it's changed over time, and its connection to local wine culture.
