What to expect
The Waverley Bar has been a part of Edinburgh's story since 1891. Behind its horseshoe bar and brass fixtures, with over 300 whiskies lining the shelves, this is where Edinburgh's folk scene found its voice. The upstairs parlour (your private room for the afternoon) saw Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty perform in the earliest days of their careers. The three F's of the Waverley: Folk, Folk and Folklore. Music, People and Stories. Today, that same spirit lives on.
Over two hours, your local whisky expert will lead you through four outstanding single malt Scotch whiskies drawn from Scotland's major whisky-producing regions, from the delicate, floral notes of the Lowlands to the bold, peaty character of the Islands. Each dram comes with the story behind it: the distillery, the region, the people who made it, and the culture that surrounds it.
