What to expect
Meet your guide outside the main entrance to the Royal William Yard and set off on a gentle walk around the restored victualing yard. Follow a winding route past the main buildings and into hidden corners before ending at the inner basin in the heart of the yard.
You will discover:

- Where the previous victualing (Naval supply) yard was sited
- The materials and architecture
- Stories from the Yard
- The importance of the Yard to the Royal Navy
- The former uses of the buildings, including the Slaughterhouse, Cooperage and Brewery

The tour route has a few steps, one uphill slope and a steep set of steps down. The tour can be made accessible for people with limited mobility, prams or wheelchairs.
Terms & conditions
Free toilets are available in the Brewhouse building inside the Royal William Yard and on the corner of Cremyll Street and Admiral’s Hard outside the Yard.
There are several eateries and coffee shops inside and outside the Yard. Please feel free to bring beverages or snacks on the tour.
Car parking available on Cremyll Street and in the Royal William Yard. Please read the parking payment instructions carefully on arrival.

Bus stop just outside the Yard, which connects to the City Centre, but there is no direct bus route to the Barbican or Hoe.
