What to expect
The Perfect Azores Discoverie Pack Includes:

• One Full-Day Tour to Furnas & Ribeira dos Caldeirões (East Side)
Important Info:
• For tax reasons, lunches are not included but can be added as an optional add-on. Simply select the "West & East Lunch Add-on" at checkout, and we’ll handle your reservation.
• The tour runs over 2 consecutive days, and your first day can start with either the West or East tour.
FULL-DAY TOUR: SETE CIDADES & LAGOA DO FOGO (West Side)
• Begin with a visit to a pineapple plantation, then head to the iconic Vista do Rei viewpoint on the edge of the volcanic crater to admire the stunning blue and green lakes.
• Descend into the crater and stop at Cerrado das Freiras viewpoint and Sete Cidades parish, where you can explore the charming village, walk along the lake’s edge, or enjoy a buffet lunch if you’ve selected the optional add-on.
• Continue to Escalvado viewpoint, overlooking the ocean, Ponta da Ferraria, and Mosteiros Islets.
• Visit Santa Barbara black sand beach, then explore Lagoa do Fogo and Pico da Barrosa viewpoints for panoramic views of the volcano and western São Miguel.
Return to the starting point.
FULL-DAY TOUR: FURNAS VOLCANO & RIBEIRA DOS CALDEIRÕES (East Side)
• Start with a morning stop at Santa Iria viewpoint, one of the most beautiful views on the north coast.
• Visit one of Europe’s only two industrial tea factories, enjoy a tasting, and explore the 100% natural tea plantation where goats roam freely and no pesticides or fertilizers are used.
• Discover Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões in Nordeste, a natural park featuring old water mills, lush greenery, and magnificent waterfalls.
• Explore Furnas village, locally known as the “Mouth of the Volcano,” home to hot springs, mineral water sources, and steaming volcanic spots.
• Indulge in the traditional Cozido das Furnas, a unique dish slow-cooked underground in volcanic heat for 7 hours (available as an optional lunch add-on).
• Enjoy an optional visit to Terra Nostra Botanical Garden and swim in its thermal pool, surrounded by lush tropical and subtropical plants. (optional, 17€ per person, paid on site)
• Visit Parque das Caldeiras near Furnas Lake to learn traditional volcanic cooking methods (extra €3 per person, paid on site).
• Stop at Nossa Senhora das Vitórias Chapel, beautifully located by Furnas Lake, and admire its charming surroundings.
• Pass through Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of São Miguel, before its destruction in 1522.
• Return to the starting point.
