What to expect
Ride Forest Trails and the Levada Route
Perfect for riders that would like have an initial experience on the trail, this tour offers a gentle introduction to Madeira’s incredible landscapes and unique botanical layers.
We start at 1,400 meters above sea level, on the idyllic Biker’s coffee and Restaurant, in Poiso.
The initial gentle ascent allows everyone to warm up comfortably before the main descent begins.
After the morning briefing we will assess the levels of the group and get into 2 options:
Choose to ride gentle, winding singletrack trails weaving through Madeira’s native forests
Take a peaceful route along calm roads and gravel tracks until we meet the historic Levada da Serra do Faial, the island’s iconic water channels.
As we near the village of Camacha, we’ll take a break at a local bar for a drink and snack (not included), before riding the final exciting 10 kilometers downhill on smooth paved roads, finishing at the AlbanoAktiv Bikestation
