What to expect
With an amazing view, this hike connects two of the highest peaks of Madeira Island: Pico Ruivo (1862m) and Pico do Arieiro (1818m).
This trail is very uneven and therefore physically demanding.
Among the climbs and descents along the route, there is a steep ascent over hundreds of steps carved into the rock as you approach Pico Ruivo, followed by a meticulous descent. This is an excellent trail for nature enthusiasts and for those seeking a physical challenge.
Please note that access to the trail is included in this booking, so there is no need to make an additional reservation through Simplifica. The price also includes the mandatory government hiking permits/tickets required to access the trail.
