Start with pickup from your hotel in Funchal. Set off on a full-day hike through lush agricultural land from the city of Machico, complemented with superb views over São Lourenço Peninsula, Porto Santo Island, and the northeastern coast.
Make your way along the historic route that connects Machico and Caniçal to the village of Porto da Cruz, located in the northeast of the island. Starting from a lower altitude, walk up through the more challenging section of this beautiful path.
Traverse a section of a towering cliff and imposing mountain. As you walk along the rugged cliffside trail, enjoy spectacular views of the ocean. At the end of your adventure, relax on the return journey to Funchal.
