What to expect
Begin your UNESCO Douro Valley adventure departing from Porto, where you'll learn about the region's rich winemaking heritage during the scenic drive.
Stop in Amarante: Enjoy a coffee break in this charming riverside town, visit the historic Church and Convent of São Gonçalo, and enjoy free time to sample traditional pastries from local artisan shops. (Full Day Option Only)
Family Wine Estate Experience: Continue to a boutique family-owned estate for an intimate guided tour and wine tastings. Enjoy a carefully crafted lunch featuring local specialties, thoughtfully paired with Douro wines (red & white wines), served on-site at the winery in a traditional and welcoming setting. Vegetarian and Vegan Options are available upon request. (Full Day Option Only)
Scenic River Cruise: After lunch, journey to Pinhão with a photo stop at a spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Douro Valley's terraced slopes. Witness the confluence of the Pinhão and Douro rivers before embarking on a relaxing one-hour cruise through the region's most picturesque landscapes.
Wine Estate Visit: Explore a prestigious wine estate such as Quinta da Roeda or Quinta São Luiz. Discover centuries-old winemaking traditions and secrets while tasting 3 of their finest wines.
Return Journey: Travel back to Porto via the famous N222 road, consistently ranked among the world's most beautiful drives.
HALF DAY TOUR OPTION:
This is a shorter, half-day experience. As such, lunch is not included, and the itinerary does not allow time for a lunch break. We recommend having breakfast before departure and lunch after the arrival to Porto at 2,15PM.
