In our Monastery & Reservoir Discovery Walk (Trail 1) you are invited to embark on a rewarding hike that begins in Óbidos, taking you through stunning landscapes and centuries of history. This accessible journey leads you to Eburobrittium, a fascinating recently discovered ancient Roman city that offers a direct connection to the past.
As you continue, you’ll reach the scenic reservoir, with breathtaking panoramic views, before culminating at the serene Monastery of São Miguel — a magnificent 17th-century building steeped in rich history. Feel free to settle at the picnic tables for a well-deserved snack or even one of our delicious picnic options, enjoying a moment of relaxation.
You can also explore the monastery’s historically rich building and its peaceful gardens, which are open to visitors. It’s a perfect blend of discovery, nature, and history — just beyond the village walls.
