We continue our journey to Tomar, the quintessential Templar city, where we will visit:
The Pegões Aqueduct, an impressive work of engineering;
The Church of Santa Maria do Olival, former headquarters of the Knights Templar;
The old town and Praça da República, with free time for lunch.
As a suggestion, the guide will recommend a medieval-themed tavern with decor and dishes inspired by the time of the Templars (lunch not included).
In the afternoon, we will visit the magnificent Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built on the site of the former Templar headquarters. Here, the mysteries and grandeur of the Order of Christ come to life through every architectural and symbolic detail.
