Next, we take a short stroll to the legendary Pastéis de Belém, the birthplace of the world-renowned custard tart. But this isn’t just a snack: it is a tradition! Refueled, we head toward the Padrão dos Descobrimentos, a towering tribute to Portugal’s fearless navigators. Standing on the banks of the Tagus River, this grand monument comes alive through my storytelling. To elevate your experience even further, you have the option to add a visit to the Belém Tower (morning or afternoon) or even, at the end the tour, put the cherry on top with an unforgettable 2-hour boat ride. Glide along the Tagus River, see Lisbon from the water, and take in breathtaking views of the very landmarks you just explored. It is the perfect, magical way to end your journey and a perspective you simply cannot miss. The ship sails at 2 p.m. for the morning tour, and 7 p.m. for the afternoon tour.

The Belem Tower visit is an option able to be chosen for an extra payment.
Bringing umbrellas and sunscreen is highly recommended, as Lisbon tends to get quite warm on most summer days.
The afternoon boat tour departure check-in is at 1:45 p.m.; the sunset boat tour departure check-in is at 6:45 p.m.
There are no lockers available at the monastery, and the suppliers do not provide a place to store luggage.
The Church of Santa Maria de Belém is closed for Sunday morning mass. You can visit the church after 2 pm; there is no admission charge, and you will need to make your own way there if you have taken part in the 9.30 am Sunday tour.
