Hong Kong Visa for Indians
Planning a trip to Hong Kong? Learn about visa options, typical documents, application steps and key checks Indian travellers should make before departure.
Do Indians Need a Visa for Hong Kong?
Visa requirements for Indian passport holders vary by destination, purpose of travel and length of stay. Before booking or travelling, confirm the current rules with the official immigration, embassy or visa authority for Hong Kong.
Visa Options
Indian nationals visiting or transiting Hong Kong for up to 14 days generally need to complete pre-arrival registration successfully before travelling. It is valid for six months, allowing multiple visits of up to 14 days each. Contact the Tour Pleasure team for personalised assistance.
Common Documents Required
For Hong Kong pre-arrival registration, hold an Indian passport valid for at least six months and provide information that is truthful, correct, and exactly matches the passport. On successful registration, print the notification slip on blank A4 white paper, check its details, and sign it. The signed slip must be used with the same valid Indian passport linked to the registration.

Important Tips for Indian Travellers
Pre-arrival registration is not required for direct air transit without leaving the airport transit area. It also does not apply to certain Indian nationals, including holders of valid Indian diplomatic or official passports, valid Hong Kong entry visas, HKSAR Travel Passes, or qualifying e-Channel enrolment. A new registration is required if the linked passport is renewed or replaced, or personal details change. For travellers under 16, a parent or legal guardian must check the details and sign the notification slip.
Hong Kong Visa FAQs
What if pre-arrival registration cannot be completed? Apply directly to the Hong Kong Immigration Department for an entry visa; Chinese diplomatic and consular missions do not accept these visit-visa applications from Indian nationals. What must I carry? The valid notification slip and the linked passport; failure to present both can result in refused boarding or entry. Registration does not guarantee entry: travellers must still meet normal immigration requirements, have sufficient funds and onward or return tickets where required, and visitors may not work, run a business, or study.
