Sumida Aquarium
Sumida Aquarium is a modern and beautifully designed aquarium located on the 5th and 6th floors of the Tokyo Skytree Town complex in Tokyo, Japan. It features a diverse range of aquatic life, with exhibits focused on the ecosystems of Tokyo Bay, the Izu Islands, and the Ogasawara Islands. One of the highlights is the large open indoor tank that replicates the natural environment of the sea around the Ogasawara Islands.
The aquarium is also home to a popular penguin exhibit, with an open-style pool allowing visitors to observe the penguins from various angles. Jellyfish displays, interactive digital installations, and a section devoted to goldfish with artistic lighting add to the unique atmosphere.
Unlike traditional aquariums, Sumida Aquarium is known for its stylish layout, minimal barriers, and emphasis on design and ambiance. It’s a great destination for families, couples, and travelers looking to enjoy a relaxed and engaging aquatic experience in the heart of Tokyo.
