Day 1 Shangri-la

You first will visit Ganden Monastery, As the largest-in-scale Tibetan Buddhist temple in Yunnan, Sonzanlin is reputed as the Little Potala. Nestled on a hill slope, the whole temple complex is just like a giant and

imposing castle with fabulous mural paintings. Delving into the monastery, you can check out the abundant cultural relics such as Buddhist scriptures, Tangka works and Buddha statues.

Located in the northwest of Shangri-La County, Yila Prairie is a beautiful prairie in the Shangri-La area. Yila, Tibetan means "Leopard Mountain", because the legendary Yila Prairie is located in the north of the Leopard Mountain is a "Shenshan", hence the name. Running on the vast grasslands makes people feel relaxed and happy. The Yila Prairie and Napa Sea are actually one and are a seasonal plateau wetland. Whenever the rainy season comes, many rivers such as the Milky River around Shangri-La are here, the water surface rises, and the grassland is submerged. At this time, it is called “Napa Sea”; when the rainy season passes, the water level drops, revealing a large wetland, which is called “ Yila Grassland."

Located in the northwestern part of Shangri-La County, Napa Sea is a seasonal lake in the plateau. The four seasons of Napa Sea have their own characteristics. In the late summer and early autumn, it is the rainy season. At this time, the water is large, and the Napa Sea is a large lake. The summer water is full, the grass grows with small flowers, and the sheep, cattle, and horses graze in groups, blending with the grasslands. The autumn grasslands are golden and the snow peaks are reflected in the lake. In the dry season of winter and spring, the lake surface shrinks or even dried up, turning into a large swamp.

Located in the center of the Shangri-La Scenic Area, Pudacuo National Park is an important part of the world's natural heritage, called the Three Rivers Convergence. It consists of three parts, namely Bitahai,

Shuduhu, and the Xiagei Folk Culture Village. The park has beautiful scenery, a well-preserved ecological environment, quiet and clear mountain lakes, vast pastures, wetlands filled with flowers and lush virgin

forests. Every spring, the park is filled with blooming rhododendrons, while the Autumn brings with it the rich colors of changing leaves.

Afterwards, proceed to Dukezong Ancient Town with a history of over 1,300 years. Following our guide, you will wander through the archaic lanes crammed with wooden white-wall dwellings, Tibetan Temples,

gilded prayer halls and pagodas. At the central square of the town, you are able to get a close touch with the real local life by joining their leisure activities such as singing and dancing.

Day 2 Shangri-la

Benzilan is called "golden sand Dam" in Tibetan. It is located in the southeast of Deqin County, Deqing Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is located by the Jinsha River at the foot of Baima Snow Mountain and traversed by national Highway 214. Here is the "three parallel rivers" area is very quiet, there is no noise brought by tourists, but feel the hot and dry weather.

Jinsha River Big Turn is also called Moon Bay. It is located at the junction of Benzilan Town, Deqin County, Yunnan Province, and Zigeng Township, Derong County, Sichuan. The Jinsha River, which runs through the mountains and valleys, is more prosperous and the valley is gradually widening. Baima Snow Mountain Pass is found in Deqin County, Yunnan Province. It is snow all year round, like a white horse of Mercedes-Benz, thus the name "White Horse Snow Mountain". There are uncommon plants here: more than ten varieties of star-leaf grass, sassafras, and rare animals such as golden monkey, clouded leopard, and red panda. It is called the "King of the temperate alpine flora and fauna" and has a high scientific value.

Mingyong Glacier is located at the foot of Kawagarbo Mountain, the main peak in the Meili Snow Mountains. It extends from the peak down to Mingyong village at the mountain's base. Mingyong Glacier is also known as Mingyong Qia. In the local Tibetan language Mingyong means "stove" and Qia means "water melted from ice." From a distance, the Mingyong Glacier looks like a silver dragon surging from the sky into the Langcang River with great momentum. The altitude is low and the climate is warm making it a great place for hiking. On the viewing platform, visitors can experience the magnificent beauty of the glacier and Kawagarbo Mountains.

Day 3 Shangri-la

Feilai Temple is situated on the Yunnan-Tibet road, 10 kilometers away from Deqin County. It faces the Kawagarbo, the main peak of the Meri Snow Mountain. In fact, Feilai Temple is on a small scale. There is only one lama accompanied by a cat and a big rooster. Feilai Temple is known for the landscape of "Sunshine on the Mountain." During sunrise, the sun shines on the main peak of the Meri Snow Mountain. It is splendid as the snow mountain boasts golden brilliance.

Mainri Snow Mountain is also known as the Prince Snow Mountain. Its main peak, Kawa Garbo, means “the steep white snowy peak in the valley.” According to legend, it is the protector God of the Nyingma Branch of Tibetan Buddhism. The famous "Sunshine Over the Golden Mountain" is a rare sight for many backpackers. It is also a favorite destination for outdoor enthusiasts and photography enthusiasts.
