1-Day Tie Dye Experience Tour in Dali
Our tour starts in Dali Old Town and takes you to the non-touristic Xizhou and Zhoucheng. First, we will visit Xizhou, a famous historical and cultural Bai minority town with well-preserved architecture and then continue to Zhoucheng, the hometown of Chinese tie-dyeing. This Dali traditional dyeing process is unique in China and even in the world. During our tour, you can experience minority’s folk customs and daily local life and even better, you can tie-dye by yourself. Afterwards we will go on a cruise on Erhai lake and visit a local fishing village.

Stop at: Xizhou Town
Details: Soak up the bustling atmosphere of the clamorous Xizhou morning market where a wide range of commodities, including fresh marine products, diversified daily necessities, and interesting local specialties are for sale. You are likely to see women dressed in traditional Bai minority costumes amongst the sellers. A visit to a typical Bai minority residential complex in Xizhou Town constructed by successful local businessmen in different historical periods gives a deeper insight into the minority culture.
Stop at: Zhoucheng Village
Details: renowned for its fine tie-dying fabrics. It is the largest town of the Bai minority, where folk customs and primitive lifestyle have been well preserved.
Stop at: Erhai Lake
Details: a cruise on Erhai Lake, cradled below Cangshan Mountain. Treasure the beautiful natural scenery and cultural significance of the lake to local Bai minority people. Step onto scenic Jinsuo Island where you can explore exquisite historic buildings and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
