Day 1: Hohhot Arrival
Please arrive at Hohhot Baita Airport between 8:30am-10am. Upon arrival, the local English speaking guide and driver will pick you up from the exit gate by holding a welcome board with "China Memory Trip" on it. Then start a guided driving tour to Xilamuren Grassland. It is one of the most visited grasslands in Inner Mongolia due to its lush natural beauty, diverse grassland activities, and excellent service quality.
Be ready to receive a warm welcome ceremony from local Mongolians wearing their national dress. They will greet you with a silver cup of wine and Hada (auspicious white or blue silk scarves), just reach out to get them with both hands.
Then horseback riding is waiting for you, you can select a horse yourself on the stud farm. (optional, at your own expense.)
After horseback riding, you are arranged to enjoy a large-scale outdoor live-action drama - Legend of Monan which reproduces the history of Mongolia 800 years ago. You can expect to see many traditional Inner Mongolia performances in the drama, including wrestling, horse racing, and equestrianism.
Day 2: Xilamuren Grassland - Kubuqi Desert - Hohhot
This morning, you are advised to get up around 4 am to appreciate the stunning sunrise view on the grassland. It’s OK if you are too tired to get up so early, a morning wandering around the yurt will still allow you to appreciate the fresh air and fantastic views of green grassland and tranquil lake.Drive to Kubuqi Desert after a simple breakfast. During this 3.5 hours drive to Kubuqi Desert, you will pass a bridge crossing the Yellow River and get a chance to appreciate the great scene of Ordos Plateau and canyon.After arriving, a 34-minute drive will take you to the desert hinterland. Here the bulk of desert activities is waiting for you, say camel-riding, sand sliding, zip-line, surfing in the desert on an off-road vehicle... (optional). For those hiking fans, you can hike a while in the desert under the guidance of your guide. You will have 2-3 hours to have fun in the desert.Then drive for about 2 hours to Hohhot and check in the hotel.
Day 3: Hohhot - Departure
Start today with a visit to the Dazhao Monastery (aka Dazhao Temple). Dating from the Ming Dynasty, this lamasery is the largest and the best-preserved in Hohhot which boasts of its magnificent palace, Silver Buddha, golden dragon sculptures, and more other fancy fresco and sculptures.Head to the General Government Office Site which once was the highest military officer station in the Qing Dynasty. Featuring Qing Dynasty-style structures, and numerous historical and cultural relics, it is renowned as the "First Mansion of Monan ".Then, head to the Inner Mongolia Museum. In this largest and best museum in Inner Mongolia, your eyes will be excited by numerous paleontological fossils, unique animal and plant specimens, mineral specimen, living, culture, and artistic items of many nationalities, etc.Then you will be transferred to Hohhot Airport or train station for your next destination.Please depart Hohhot airport after 6pm.
