Day 2 Chongqing- Dazu - Chongqing. O/N Chongqing. ChongqingIn the morning, we will meet you at 9am and take you to Dazu County by a comfortable private transfer in around 2 hours.The Dazu Rock CarvingsIt is the birthplace of the amazing Dazu Rock Carvings which were created from the late Tang Dynasty (618~907) to the early Song Dynasty (960~1127). With the theme of Buddhism, Dazu cliffside carvings aredistributed in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan and Shizhuanshan. You will spend the day visiting Baodingshan Carvings located about 527 meters above sea level. It mainly consists of theDafowan Rock Carvings Area and Xiaofowan Rock Carvings Area. There are about 10,000 statues of Buddha carved on the 500-meter cliff in the U-shape Dafowan. It is said to be a long narrative mural withplenty of commentary but no repeated content. If interested, you could walk to the nearby shopping street where imitated statues and other handicrafts are sold.ChongqingAfter the lunch, we will drive you back to Chongqing and you can enjoy the rest of the day on your own.
