Start your day in Urumqi, where you'll be met at your hotel and transferred to Urumqi Airport. From there, catch a short 1.5-hour flight to Kuqa, a region rich in history and natural beauty. Upon arrival, embark on a fascinating journey to the Kizil Grottos, one of the oldest Buddhist cave complexes in China, adorned with intricate murals and sculptures that reflect the ancient cultural exchange along the Silk Road.

Day 1 Urumqi--Kuqa by air
Kuqa Grand Bazar
Met and transferred to Urumqi airport from your centrally located Urumqi hotel, where you will fly to Kuqa. The flight information will be sent to you after the booking. Upon arrival, you will visit the Grand Bazaar in Kuqa

Day 2 Kuqa
Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves (Kezi'er Qian Fo Dong)
Take 1.5-hour ride in the morning to Kizil Grottos that is one of the oldest grottos in China. There are colorful frescos and paintings in these caves to display the Jatakas stories.
Tianshan Mysterious Grand Canyon
Then you will take 1-hour ride to Tianshan Grand Canyon. The 5-km long canyon is impressive for its splendid red rocks. Afterwards you will drive back to Kuqa.

Day 3 Kuqa to Kashgar by overnight train
Subashi Gucheng Temple
You will visit the large ruin of the renowned temple, Subash. The ruin displays its splendid past with the huge wall, gate, and the halls. Kuche Temple
This mosque is situated in the old town of Kuqa, well-known for its old buildings and the Islamic court.
Kuche Royal Palace
The palace was rebuilt recent years, but it is still insteresting to view the relics from Kuqa area in the museum. Later you will catch overnight train to Kashgar for about 8 hours.

Day 4 Kashgar
Kashgar Bazaar
Upon arrival, you will visit Kashgar old town. The traditional Uyghur houses are well decorated with flowers, trees, and paintings. Then you will move to the Grand Bazaar. It is interesting to explore the local shops for handicrafts, souvenirs, and scarves etc.
Id Kah Mosque
Visit the old mosque in the city center. The earliest history of the mosque can be tracked back to 1442AD. You can go inside of the mosque to view the old houses.
Kashgar Live Stock Market
You will visit this market on Sunday only. If you want to visit here, you must ensure to get to Kashgar on Sunday. The sheep, cows, yaks, and horses are sold in the open market. Local farmers are from nearby
area to sell and buy their livestocks here on Sunday.
Gaotai Ancient Homes
This area is part of the old town in Kashgar. The houses are well preserved, you can wander in the narrow lanes. Afterwards you will be transferred to hotel in Kashgar where the tour concludes. We can offer a
free Kashgar airport transfer for next day if you need it.
