-Spot Introduction-
- Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium
The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, which is famous for its whale sharks, is a magnificent world of the mysterious creatures of Okinawa. You can see a large-scale coral breeding exhibit in the Coral Sea aquarium that is filled with sunlight. You will also meet whale sharks and manta rays, which are said to be the symbols of Churaumi Aquarium, in the Kuroshio Sea that is listed as the third largest tank in the world. During the feeding shows held twice a day at 3:00pm and 5:00pm, you will get to see the powerful and rare sight of a whale shark eating while standing upright, facing the surface of the water. The whale shark feeding show and the popular dolphin show "Okichan Theater" are the aquarium's two major events. The dolphin show is held 4 to 5 times a day. Be sure to check out both of these popular shows.
- Ryukyumura
Inside Ryukyumura, there are many old Japanese-style houses built more than 80 years ago that were relocated from various parts of Okinawa. This park was built to reflect the scenery of Okinawa around the end of the Meiji era, about 100 years ago. In addition, there are programs that cover 40 years of traditional crafts, performing arts, and culture of everyday life to make you truly feel as if you're experiencing Okinawa.
- Okinawa World - Cultural Kingdom Gyokusendo Cave
This is a theme park where you can fully experience the history, culture, and nature of Okinawa! The castle town of the Ryukyu Kingdom, lined with old Japanese-style houses with red-tiled roofs, offers a wide range of hands-on craft experiences, such as bingata (a method of dyeing developed in Okinawa) and hataori (weaving), which have been designated as national registered tangible cultural properties. Gyokusendo Cave, which boasts the largest number of stalactites in Japan, is on a whole other level.
- Southeast Botanical Gardens
There are more than 1,300 species of plants that can only be seen in tropical countries and about 30 species of animals that live in this paradise. Walk through the palm trees that color the park with a tropical atmosphere and enjoy petting animals such as capybaras and squirrel monkeys. It is a healing paradise created by plants and animals.
