ー Spot introduction ー
Ishigaki Yaima Village(石垣やいま村), located on a hill overlooking Ishigaki Island's scenic spot Nagura Bay (名蔵湾), is a theme park at the southernmost tip of Japan that recreates the good old Yaeyama Islands styled houses with the backdrop of rich nature.
In the village, there is a water buffalo pond, a Spilornis cheela protection cage, and a squirrel monkey garden, and feeding the cute squirrel monkeys is popular.
In addition, rare flora and fauna can be observed on the tour course to Nagura Amparu (名蔵アンパル), which was registered under the Ramsar Convention in 2005. After walking around the village, take a break at the Nagura Drive-in's Amparu Shokudo (diner: あんぱる食堂) . Enjoy delicious local cuisine and shopping.
