Vietnam Holiday Route Guide: Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh and Phu Quoc
Vietnam offers heritage towns, beaches, bays, markets and food streets. The best route depends on how much moving you want to do.
North Vietnam is scenic and cultural
Hanoi and Ha Long Bay suit travellers who want old quarters, local food, cruises and dramatic scenery. It is a strong first Vietnam route.
Central Vietnam balances beach and heritage
Da Nang and Hoi An combine beaches, lantern streets, Ba Na Hills and relaxed evenings. This region works well for families and couples.
South Vietnam adds city energy
Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta are lively and experience-led. Phu Quoc adds an island finish for beach lovers.
How many nights to plan
A focused Vietnam trip needs five to six nights, while covering north, central and south Vietnam comfortably needs eight to ten nights. Trying to include every region in a short holiday creates too many airport transfers.
Food and shopping note
Vietnam is rewarding for travellers who enjoy local food, markets, cafes and walking streets. Vegetarian preferences and Indian meals should be discussed before travel so the route can be planned sensibly.
